Interesting Experiments

When it gets close to pay-day the cupboards start looking a little bare and have odd things in them…. today for lunch I couldn’t figure out what to make… We had a can of lentils (my cousin is shaking her head right now) a can of refried beans… so i decided to try making a veggie burger. The result … delish!!!

Veggie Bean burgers!!

1 can of refried beans

1 can of lentils (or the equivalent using dried beans)

1/4 of a red onion chopped fairly fine

about 2 cups of spinach wilted and chopped

enough rice flour (chick pea would be better) to bind it a little

mix  it all together it will be more like  a batter not a patty

in a non stick pan put in a good amount of oil and place your patties in for about 3-5 minutes a side until they are brown and crispy!

I don’t have any pictures as this was not planned and it is all eaten!!

This burger is a great source of fiber and protein:)

    I’m not shaking my head! But did you know you don’t even have to presoak lentils? Just boil them!
